The Draft: The draft will occur early in
the week after the registration deadline each month using http://www.stratdraft.com/. If we have multiple draft divisions, we will
attempt to have at least two different possible nights available for live
drafts. The live drafts will take place
starting at 8pm EST and will feature 1 minute time allowance per pick, which
should allow them to be completed by 11:30pm EST. If we have enough interest and tournament
directors who have the availability, we will also have the multi-day draft
option. In that case, we will draft 6-7
rounds per day, Monday –Thursday, after which the TD will attempt to get all
players together one night to finish the draft or at least get through as many
rounds as possible. Draft time
allowances for each pick will typically be 30 minutes, but it will be at the
discretion of the TD. Hopefully everyone
will be able to check in often and pick ahead of schedule if able to.
Game Play: All teams should be able to
play at least 1 series every 2 days on average. If you will be away for a few
days, no problem, You would just need to get your
games in before you go or be able to make them up when you return.
Entry Fee: The entry fees for all
Internet Tournaments will be the same as for face to face STAR tournaments
(player’s choice of $25, $50, or $100), with varying degrees of participation
in the prize pool as per face to face tournaments. Entry fees must be paid prior to the
draft. Paypal
to Treasurer Randy Davidson (randyhd@yahoo.com
) is the preferred method of payment however you may mail him a check. Call or email Randy for payment arrangements.
Prize Pool: The prize pool will be made up
of the sum of all entry fees less tournament expenses. We’ll take out $5/player for the Region Fund
(and this year, all those $ will be returned to the players based upon where
they finish in Region) plus the Star Sanction Fee (also $5/player but this year
capped at $50/tournament). Each player’s
“equity” in the prize pool will be his entry fee minus the per player expenses
(i.e. for a 20-person tournament, $25 players would have $17.50 of equity, $50
players would have $42.50, and $100 players would have $92.50). $100 players will always fully participate in
the prize pool and players who play for less will participate based on the
ratio of their equity to the $100 player’s equity (e.g. the Poker side-pot
method).
Rules: The format and the rules that
are specific to the Internet Region can be found at http://www.studio303.com/star/internet/starinternetformat.htm. These rules assume 10 teams per
division. The format will vary somewhat
if there are more or less than 10 per division, but most of the rules will be
unaffected.
