Steve Davidson (24-10) of La Habra CA defeated Bill Katona (20-14) of Moreno Valley CA three games to one in the final. Davidson now has 14 STAR Tournaments wins.

Davidson defeated his brother, Randy Davidson, three games to none in one semifinal. Katona defeated Tom Anderson three games to none in the other semifinal. In the quarterfinals, Steve D defeated Stan Suderman, three games to two; Randy D defeated Jim Gary, three games to none; Katona defeated Mark Van Klaveren, three games to two, and Anderson defeated Rick Finch, three games to two.  To advance to the quarterfinals, Randy D had to win a three-way shootout, defeating Ed Daley and Dale Troyani. Also, Suderman won a playoff game from Marshall Palmer to advance.

Gary (16-6) and Steve D (15-7) won their respective divisions..
