Gene Abood (23-11) of South Plainfield New Jersey defeated the team of Ben and Don Leong (20-14), of Gaithersburg & Laurel Maryland, respectively, four games to three in the world series. This is Abood's first Star Tournament win.

Abood defeated Don Shults three games to none in one semi-final. The Leongs defeated Bryan Lewis three games to none in the other semi-final.
