Ben Swoboda (21-13) of Chicago IL defeated the team of Mike Kman of Enola PA & Bruce Layton of Ithaca NY (26-6) three games to one in the finals. Swoboda now has six STAR Tournaments wins.

Swoboda defeated Drayton Fleming three games to two in one semi-final. Kman/Layton defeated Frank Luisi three games to none in the other semi-final.

Swoboda defeated Chris Witt three games to two in one quarter-final. Fleming defeated Dave Bengert three games to two, Kman/Layton defeated Paul Brownlee three games to two, and Luisi defeated Eric Wayne three games to one in the other semi-finals.

Kman/Layton (19-1, Bengert (13-7), and Swoboda (12-8) won their respective divisions. There were ties for second in the Kman/Layton and Swoboda divisions, needing to be resolved by shootouts. In the Kman/Layton Division, Witt finished 2nd and Fleming 3rd, as Roger Hilton, Larry Braus & Roscoe were eliminated; in the Swoboda Division, Luisi finished 2nd and Dan Pruszewski 3rd, as Vic Horvath and the team of Dave Johnson & Bill Fenlon were eliminated. In the shootout to eliminate one 3rd-place team, Fleming & Brownlee each won a shootout from Pruszewski to advance.
