Stan Suderman (22-11) of Buena Park CA defeated Mick Van Valkenberg (19-14) of San Jose CA four games to one in the world series. This is Suderman’s ninth Star Tournament win; he went 15-3 on Sunday to recover from a sub-.500 Saturday.

Suderman defeated Hank Smith three games to one in one semi-final. Van Valkenberg defeated Vic Horvath three games to one in the other semi-final.

Van Klaveren, Smith and Mike Jaffe (15-9) tied for first in their division, whose order was decided by shootouts. Suderman (15-9) won his division.
