Jim Gary (24-10) of Orange CA defeated Randy Davidson (23-12) of La Habra CA three games to two in the finals. It was Gary’s first STAR Tournament win.

Gary defeated Mick VanValkenberg three games to one in one semi-final. Davidson defeated Mark Van Klaveren three games to none in the other semi-final.

Gary defeated Stan Suderman three games to none in one quarter-final. VanValkenberg defeated Tom Anderson three games to two, Davidson defeated Ed Daley three games to two, and Van Klaveren defeated Bubba Koenig three games to one in the other semi-finals.

Davidson (15-7), Koenig (14-8), Suderman (14-8) and VanValkenberg (14-8) won their respective divisions..
