Eric McCumber of Anaheim CA (23-14) defeated Stan Suderman, of Buena Park CA (20-16) three games to two in the Finals. It was McCumber’s first STAR Tournaments win, in his first STAR tournament.

            McCumber defeated Mike Breithaupt three games to two in one semi-final.  Suderman defeated Ed Daley three games to two in the other semi-final.

            In the quarterfinals, McCumber defeated Bill Katona, three games to two; Breithaupt defeated  Steve Davidson, three games to none; Suderman defeated Mick Van Valkenburg, three games to one, and Daley defeated Peter Waterstreet, three games to none.

Davidson (16-6), Daley (15-7) and Katona and Van Valkenburg (both 14-8) led their respective divisions.  Katona won a tiebreaker over Waterstreet to win his division.
