Bill Katona (21-14) of Riverside CA defeated Mike Meszaros (19-15) of Billings MT by four games to two in the world series. Katona now has two STAR Tournaments wins.

In one semifinal, Katona defeated Hank Smith, three games to two, after Smith had gone ahead 2-0. In the other, Meszaros defeated Ben Leong, three games to one.

Smith (16-8), Leong (16-8) & Katona (14-10) won their respective divisions, Katona winning a shootout from Bryan Albin, 2^nd, & Dave Suderman, 3^rd.

Then, Mark Van Klaveren won shootouts from Suderman & Dale Troyani for best 3^rd-place entry. Van Klaveren thus advanced to the shootout with the 2^nd-place teams, where he lost to Mick Van Valkenberg while Meszaros was defeating Albin. In the final shootout, Meszaros defeated Van Valkenberg, to advance to the semis.

Van Klaveren wins the West Regional points competition, and thereby has earned a place in the Papal Room.
